Healthy Birds

About Us

The Biosecurity Education Initiative is a partnership between the University of Guelph, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Poultry Industry Council.

The mission is to develop a network with the non-regulated feather industries to enhance technology transfer of information that will improve bird health and welfare and on-farm biosecurity.

Poulry Industry Council

The Poultry Industry Council (PIC) is a non-profit corporation recognized by Revenue Canada as having charitable status. PIC was officially formed in 1997, the result of a merger between the Ontario Poultry Council and the Poultry Industry Centre. Located in Arkell, Ontario, just outside of Guelph, the PIC's primary activities include encouraging and financing research and education for the benefit of the Canadian poultry industry. This is made possible through the efforts of a thirteen person volunteer Board representing both producers and the poultry industry.
